11 April 2017 - Scottish patients will be able to benefit from a breast cancer drug which could prolong life by nine months despite it being axed in England and Wales because of its price.
Scotland is also the only place in the UK where patients can get a pill that cuts the risk of HIV infection by 90%.
Scottish public spending is £10,500 for each person compared to £8,800 in England.
The drug will be removed from the NHS in England in June, which has sparked a backlash from breast cancer patients and campaign groups.
