Radio personality Michael Kooge says he's being 'left to die' as he can't afford cancer treatment
30 September 2019 - An Auckland radio personality suffering from an aggressive form of brain cancer says he and many other Kiwis will die due to the unaffordable cost of treatment.
Michael Kooge, 35, describes himself as "the unluckiest guy in the world", after battling through stage three melanoma in 2012, only to get unrelated glioblastoma in 2017.
After having a "massive" seizure, Kooge, well known for his work on The Edge radio station, was in a coma for three days at Auckland City Hospital and awoke to the bad news.
