27 September 2019 - It might have cost the equivalent of 20 tubs of baby formula but for new mum Michelle Dwight choosing to have a long-acting contraceptive fitted has paid off, in the form of having control over her fertility.
The new mum, whose son Kobe arrived seven months ago, used the device both before her pregnancy and after the birth with great success. It did, however, come at a cost of about $340.
While a few hundred dollars might not seem that expensive to some, for others it could be a huge barrier, Family Planning's Sue Reid said.
