30 June 2019 - One of the highlights at Blair Vining's final farewell came when a suitcase, chock-full of signed petition papers, left the event bound for parliament.
National MPs Hamish Walker and Michael Woodhouse were entrusted with the delivery north when they and 650 others were in Invercargill to share the farewell with Blair on Saturday night.
The Winton man has terminal cancer and a petition, organised by him and his family, asks the Government to introduce a national cancer agency.
