Kaitaia woman's life and death choice as PHARMAC says no to funding drug

28 December 2018 - Kaitaia mum Donna MacMillan is a glass-half-full kind of person despite being terminally ill with advanced breast cancer.

But finding out only a few days before Christmas that PHARMAC has decided not to fund the drug keeping MacMillan and several other women alive was a huge body blow.

Not that PHARMAC, the Government's buying agency for pharmaceuticals, has ever funded MacMillan's Ibrance medication, or many of the other women's life-extending medication.
