1 November 2019 - An epilepsy sufferer is urging others with the condition to boycott the Government's change in anti-epileptic drug medication following a spate of deadly seizures.

Judy Lawrence is speaking out after a 23-year-old woman died suddenly on September 20 after she was forced to switch her medication to a generic form of lamotrigine called Logem, a practice some researchers say increases the risk of seizures.

Speaking to Radio New Zealand, the woman's mother feared her daughter's death was linked to the drug brand switch and urged vigilance among the 11,000 Kiwis being forced to change following a PHARMAC drive that will save $30 million over five years.
