9 July 2019 - Several petitions, two marches on Parliament and countless emotive pleas have been fruitless in a long-running fight to get a handful of breast cancer drugs funded by the Government - but those leading the charge aren't giving up.
For Malcolm Mulholland, one of those at the forefront of the campaign to convince Pharmac to make more money available for life-extending drugs, progress has felt glacial in the almost year-long fight.
"[That's] despite a high number of advocacy groups and medical professionals, and a wealth of data and research, demonstrating that New Zealand is at the bottom of the world when it comes to the funding of medicines."
