Anxious wait for cystic fibrosis PBS announcement
17 August 2018 - The outcomes from the July 2018 PBAC meeting with be made public later today.
A Bunbury mother, whose son is living with cystic fibrosis has expressed her nerves ahead of today's long awaited decision on whether a ‘life-changing’ drug will be made accessible.=In May, Taryn Barrett spoke to the Mail about the drug, Orkambi, going before the PBAC in July.
It was Vertex Pharmaceuticals’ fourth submission to the PBAC to list Orkambi on the PBS for the treatment of certain cystic fibrosis patients aged 12 years and over.
An analysis of the outcomes from the July 2018 PBAC meeting will be published in MAESTrO Daily on Monday.
